INTERRELIGIOUS DIALOGUE AS A FACTOR OF EURASIAN INTEGRATION

One of the leading aspects of interstate integration is the values on the basis of which strategically significant political and economic decisions are made. This article discusses the role of religious values implemented in the format of interreligious dialogue in the Eurasian space.

The ambiguous concept of «Eurasian space» is defined as the post-Soviet space with the prospects for expansion to the East. Interreligious dialogue is understood not only as a way of communication between representatives of various religious communities, but also as a kind of political strategy.

The partnership interreligious dialogue has the greatest integration potential in the context of the Eurasian space. Such a dialogue makes it possible to jointly make decisions on key social problems, bypassing the risks of discussing fundamental doctrinal differences.

Partnership interreligious dialogue involves not only the official interaction of the leaders of religious organizations, but also the communication of representatives of various religious communities at the ordinary level. Such a format of dialogue can make a significant contribution to the spatial self-determination and geographical self-identification of the people inhabiting the Eurasian space.

At the same time, it is necessary to develop new normative foundations for partnership interreligious dialogue in the Eurasian space, which take into account the specifics of the subjects of the dialogue, their goals and principles. The presence of normative documents and conceptual boundaries of dialogue is required to resolve conflict situations and improve forms of interreligious interaction.

The development of normative documents regulating the implementation of interreligious dialogue in the Eurasian space requires a thorough analysis of confessional positions and ideas about interaction with representatives of other religious beliefs. This article focuses on the canonical norms and the latest regulatory documents of the Russian Orthodox Church on issues of interreligious dialogue.
