ETHICAL INTERPRETATIONS OF THE CONCEPT \u00abTOLERANCE\u00bb<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tolerance is the subject of analysis of different sciences, interdisciplinary scientific research. Possessing a pronounced socio-practical orientation, the phenomenon of tolerance is becoming particularly acute in the current conditions of the formation of the global digitalization of society and a sharp aggravation of geopolitical tensions, reaching \u00abbreaks\u00bb in communications between countries. Vague formulations of the phenomenon of tolerance provoke the adoption of decisions that are ambiguously perceived by the community, become a means of justifying controversial positions and measures, turning it into a destructive phenomenon of modern society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The article presents an overview of approaches to the interpretation of tolerance as an ethical principle in the history of philosophy, highlights the main directions of interpretation of this principle in modern discourse: through the understanding of the \u00abother\u00bb (\u00abmirror of the Self\u00bb), through the practical sphere of the functioning of the phenomenon of tolerance, through the norms of ethics and practical philosophy. The conclusion is made about the contradictory nature of the ethical principle of tolerance in the practical and scientific sphere, its \u00abontological\u00bb status of a new attitude to reality in the conditions of the formation of a multipolar world based on dialogue, empathy and humanism: tolerance is not a \u00abpanacea\u00bb for solving modern geopolitical and moral problems, but elevated to the rank of an ethical principle, it becomes a form of peaceful coexistence and a constructive equal dialogue of various individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
