POLITICAL ADVERTISING AS A STRATEGY FOR BUILDING A HIGH-LEVEL CULTURE OF CITIZENS’ DEMOCRACY

The article considers political activism of citizens as one of the fundamental principles of the democratic regime, its importance for the functioning of modern societies. The author defines the categories of «political activism» and «political mobilization,» the specifics of their expression through the prism of consolidation in laws and the implementation in public practice of modern principles of the democratic regime. Three main ways of political mobilization of citizens are identified, among which direct, implicit (or indirect) and mixed mobilization. Based on the study of each of them, possible strategies have been identified to increase the level of political activity of the population, among which political advertising plays an important role as a way of indirectly influencing the consciousness of citizens, contributing to the formation of effective interaction between government and society within the framework of political processes taking place in the country. It is the indirect impact on the worldview of the country’s population that has been described as effective, allowing it to cover the largest number of potential subject of politics. In conclusion, the work revealed the importance of increasing the degree of activity of citizens in politics through the implementation of political mobilization for the development and strengthening of a high level of culture of democracy, both individual citizens and the whole society as a whole.
